Shipping
We will ship chinchillas at the buyer's expense. We do not ship internationally. Shipping entails more than just the shipping costs. There is a carrier fee, and a health cert fee, which airlines may require.
Carrier Fees- The carrier fee is the cost of the carrier that will be used to ship your chinchilla. This generally runs $30 for a single chinchilla or a pair of chinchillas. For more than 2 chinchillas we have a carrier for $45. These are generally used for chinchillas that cannot be shipped together in a carrier, mostly for adults. The carrier fee is refundable upon the return of the carrier to us.
Health Certificates- Health certificates are required by the airlines, to ensure that the chinchillas are healthy and will not cause harm to other animals on the flight. Our veterinarian performs the heath exam. The health cert generally runs $40-$45 per chinchilla.
Shipping expense- We ship through a variety of airlines. We have Continental, Alaska Air, Frontier Airlines, Delta, and a few others available to us. The costs generally run anywhere from $110-180 based on the weight and size of carrier used, as well as the airline used. Some airlines require prepayment of the shipping fees while others will ship C.O.D. If prepayment is required it must be paid to me prior to my shipping the chinchilla to you.
*The chinchilla must be paid for in full (health cert fee, carrier fee, cost of chinchilla, and possibly shipping fee) before flight will be booked. *
